Megan Bowman
Megan first learned about PeaceTrees while traveling through Southeast Asia in 1999 and had the opportunity to see their work in action. She joined the board of directors in 2018 and served as president from 2020-2022. In 2023, after three years of COVID-related delay, she returned to Vietnam on a Citizen Diplomacy Trip—this time with her 20-year-old son. Her commitment to the organization’s work of healing the legacy of war through mine action, economic development, education, and reconciliation has only deepened over time.
Megan is a Seattle native with a life-long interest in learning about the world. Her professional experience has focused on the intersection of public policy and international affairs, including work for the U.S. Congress, the technology sector, non-profit organizations, and academia.
