Sue Warner Bean
When Sue began researching her big brother’s military service it set her on an improbable and deeply fulfilling journey with PeaceTrees. USMC Cpl. David Warner was killed in action in Hue City in 1968. Thirty-five years later Sue connected with his commanding officer, retired USMC Colonel Chuck Meadows. In an extraordinary coincidence, he lived just ten miles from Sue’s home and was executive director of PeaceTrees. In 2005, Sue joined him on her first Citizen Diplomacy Trip, and she’s been involved with PeaceTrees ever since. Along the way she has sponsored several projects, including the David Warner Kindergarten in A Xing, and received the gift of rich and meaningful friendships on both sides of the Pacific.
A Seattle native and UW graduate, Sue is founder and Principal of NavAid Crisis Consulting Group, an emergency preparedness and response consultancy. She was previously Emergency Response Director for Alaska Air Group.
