About the Cheerful Children Kindergarten

Thanks to the generous support of the Stokes family, the Cheerful Children Kindergarten in Vay Village has been completed and was dedicated in January 2020. 

Tan Lap is a mountainous commune located in Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province. The whole commune of Tan Lap has 1,146 households with 4,720 people. There are 240 ethnic minority households with 1,147 people. Currently, there are 583 preschool age children in Tap Lap that are not able to access childhood education. In 2016, PeaceTrees was able to fund and construct the Friends Forever Kindergarten which created a safe and healthy environment for children of Lang Vay Village. An addition classroom was added and completed in 2020 to ensure that preschool age children of Tan Lap commune have access to early childhood education. Local children are able to have a nutritious meal during the day and learn in a safe, structured classroom.
